Simba Arati Sends Stern Warning to Rigathi Gachagua: Focus on Development, Not Politics

Kisii Governor and ODM Deputy Leader Simba Arati has firmly advised Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to prioritize development over politics.

During the launch of a cancer center in Kisii, with President William Ruto and his deputy in attendance, Arati stressed the need for unity and collaboration for the nation’s progress.

Addressing Gachagua, Arati welcomed him to Kisii, encouraging continued cooperation with the President, but cautioned against bringing up divisive issues, signaling that ODM is ready to support President Ruto if necessary.

“Mr. Deputy President, feel at home in Kisii. Don’t worry. Continue working with the President, but if divisive matters arise, as ODM, we are prepared to collaborate with him,” Arati warned.

Gachagua has faced accusations of undermining the President and mobilizing allies to disrupt the head of state’s efforts to serve Kenyans.

Arati expressed appreciation to President Ruto for including ODM members in his administration, underscoring the importance of cross-party cooperation.

“You know, recently, I was appointed deputy party leader of ODM. We appreciate our President for integrating our people into the government,” Arati said.

He also reaffirmed ODM’s commitment to supporting the President, stating, “As deputy party leader, I assure you that we will keep backing you to ensure the nation remains stable under our leadership.”

Arati’s remarks come amidst a tense political environment in Kenya, where leaders from various factions frequently clash.

He urged all leaders to set aside their differences and focus on serving the people.

“I appeal to the leaders present to put aside their differences, support the government, and work for the people,” he emphasized.
