Ruto’s Revenge? Ex-Deputy President Spills Secrets, Cries Foul Over ‘Attacks’ on His Family
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of attacking his children and family as part of a wider effort to silence him. Speaking on Wednesday, February 26, Gachagua claimed his loved ones have faced intimidation and threats since his removal from office.
Addressing journalists from Ukambani, Gachagua revealed that his children’s businesses have been targeted, with landlords facing pressure for leasing spaces to them. He alleged that these tactics were meant to weaken him as he continued to challenge Ruto’s leadership.
“My children have suffered. Their businesses are under attack, and landlords are being intimidated just for hosting them. This must stop,” he stated.
Gachagua also spoke about his wife, Dorcas Rigathi, recalling a frightening incident where she was forced to flee after an unexpected visit from ex-Mungiki leader Maina Njenga during a church service.
The former DP dared Ruto to confront him directly instead of going after his family, insisting that he would not be intimidated into silence.

“If the President wants to fight me, he should do it directly, not through my wife and children. Let him face me like a man,” he asserted.
Despite the pressure, Gachagua vowed to continue holding the government accountable. “I chose to stand for my country. My family understands this, and we must change Kenya for the better,” he declared.
Since his impeachment, Gachagua has taken on an Opposition role, exposing government dealings and criticizing Ruto’s leadership. His political realignment has unsettled both Ruto’s allies and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who has since teamed up with the President.
Critics have labeled Gachagua a tribal leader due to his strong ties to the Mt. Kenya region. However, he dismissed these claims, pointing to his alliances with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa, and Jubilee’s 2027 presidential hopeful Fred Matiang’i as proof of his national vision.
