Ruto to Run Against Himself in 2027! Kingi Declares Opposition Dead on Arrival
Speaker of the Senate, Amason Kingi, has declared that President William Ruto will be the only candidate in the next presidential election.
Kingi criticized politicians who keep forming new parties but fail to win elections. According to him, these leaders lose because Kenyans are not interested in their parties or leadership.ย ย
“We already know who will be in the 2027 presidential race. The first candidate is President William Ruto, the second one is President William Ruto, and the third one is also President William Ruto. So, without a doubt, who do you think will be the president?” Kingi said on Friday while accompanying Ruto on his development tour in the coastal region.
The Senate Speaker also accused opposition leaders of being more focused on politics than their official duties of oversight. He argued that some of them had no meaningful achievements while in government, yet they now want to run for president.

On the same day, President Ruto also dismissed the opposition, stating that they have no clear plan for the country. He challenged them to present alternative solutions instead of constantly talking about him.
“The only thing they focus on is William Ruto, but I never asked them to. They should form their own party and give it a name instead of making me their agenda,” Ruto said.
He further stressed that for the opposition to be taken seriously, they must provide a vision and a concrete plan for Kenya.
“Our government is constructing roads. What is their plan? We have affordable housing, universal healthcare, and job opportunities for the youth. What are they offering?” Ruto questioned.
His remarks came a day after opposition leaders signaled plans to unite. On Thursday, Martha Karua launched her revamped political party, the Peopleโs Liberation Party, with other leaders promising a major political shift.
