Ruto Speaks Out on Trump’s Assassination Attempt

President William Ruto joined world leaders in denouncing the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump.

Ruto called the incident troubling in a statement representing the government and people of Kenya.

To the Republican Presidential Candidate, Ruto wished a swift recovery, noting that Kenya would keep him in their prayers during this challenging time.

He also acknowledged the difficulty of the situation for the former President’s family, expressing his thoughts and prayers for them.

“On behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Kenya, I join in condemning the recent attempted assassination of former U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

“I extend my deepest sympathies to President Trump, his family, and the families affected by this shocking, heinous act,” he stated.

Ruto reassured that Kenya would continue upholding its democratic principles alongside the US.

“In these troubling times, I reaffirm our commitment to the democratic ideals we share with the people of the United States of America,” the President expressed.

A 20-year-old US citizen was killed after attempting to shoot Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

The incident, captured on live TV, showed Trump being grazed on the ear by a bullet before the Secret Service intervened to protect him.
The FBI is still investigating the motive behind the attempted assassination.

“By luck or by God, many people say it’s by God I’m still here. I should be dead. I’m not supposed to be here,” Trump stated after the incident.

US President Joe Biden also condemned the attack on his rival in the upcoming November elections.

He emphasized that political violence has no place in the US, referencing recent events.
