Ruto Gets Ksh.5.1B, Gachagua Ksh.4.8B in Ksh.4T Budget Breakdown
Parliament has sanctioned a Ksh.4.006 trillion budget, marking a historic high for Kenya.
Budget and Appropriations Committee Chair Ndindi Nyoro noted the amount is a reduction from the initial budget policy statement.
In the approved 2024-2025 budget, the Office of the President will receive Ksh.5.1 billion, while the Deputy President’s office will get Ksh.4.8 billion.
State House has been allocated Ksh.9.5 billion, and the Cabinet Affairs Office will receive Ksh.275 million.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s office has been allocated an additional Ksh.1.1 billion, excluding the Foreign Affairs docket.
The Senate will receive Ksh.8 billion, and Parliament’s Support Services, Parliamentary Liaison, and Legislation are included in the budget.
After extensive discussions with the Ministry of Education, Parliament has allocated Ksh.142 billion for Basic Education, Ksh.127 billion for university education, and Ksh.30 billion for technical and vocational training colleges.

Medical services have been allocated Ksh.102 billion for curative and preventive programs, while public health will receive Ksh.28 billion.
The energy sector has been allocated Ksh.69 billion, primarily for the transmission and distribution of power as part of the Last Mile connectivity initiative.
Over Ksh.100 billion has been allocated to the Department of Roads, the National Police Service (NPS), and the Ministry of Defence.
In the anti-corruption effort, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has been allocated Ksh.4 billion, down from the Ksh.6.3 billion requested, while the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) will receive the same amount.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been allocated Ksh.3.7 billion, with Ksh.2.7 billion designated for settling pending legal fees.
The Treasury received an additional Ksh.2 billion from its previous allocation.
Treasury CS Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u is set to deliver the budget address next Thursday, in line with his counterparts in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
