Ruto Claps Back at Youth Who Stormed Jesus Winner Ministries- “In Kenya God Will be Known”
President William Ruto has responded to the organizers of the Occupy Jesus Winner Ministries protest in Nairobi. His remarks came shortly after police used teargas and arrested over 30 young people who were demonstrating in the city.
While speaking at AIC Fellowship Annex Church in Eldoret on Sunday, Ruto criticized those opposing financial contributions to churches in Kenya. He firmly stated that such people had no place in the country.
The President made it clear that he would continue giving donations to churches, even though some members of the public have criticized this practice.
“People who are against the word of God and against the construction of churches in Kenya will not succeed. They will not be able to defeat us,” Ruto said.
He further emphasized that God would always be recognized in Kenya, despite opposition from those who do not believe in Him or support the building of places of worship.
“I want to make it clear that in Kenya, God will be known. Some people do not believe in God, do not support building churches, and do not want to assist in God’s work. But as the leader of this country, I declare that God will be known in Kenya,” he stated.

The President also said that the nation would stand firm in faith. He assured that the construction of churches and support for religious activities would continue because they form the country’s foundation. According to him, no opposition would stop this mission.
His statement came just a few hours after police arrested 38 young people and took them to Kasarani Police Station. Officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) carried out the arrests.
During the Sunday service, Bishop Edward Mwai explained that some of the youth were taken into custody after arriving at the church with mobile phones, which they allegedly intended to use to gather more support for the occupation.
However, Bishop Mwai said he had forgiven them and requested the police to release them.
“I know they were being used by others. Some have already been arrested and are being held here. But I have forgiven them and asked for their release. People will eventually recognize that God is present in this church,” Mwai said.
Meanwhile, the police had to use teargas at the Roysambu roundabout in Nairobi after a large group of youth attempted to march toward the church in protest.
The demonstrators clashed with the police, leading to running battles that disrupted traffic on a section of Thika Road, one of Nairobiโs busiest highways.
