Just one day after the Pentagon of the United States disclosed Kenya’s participation in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Russia declared its intention to maintain a friendly association with Kenya.
The Russian Ambassador to Kenya, Dmitry Maksimychev, conveyed this message while commemorating Diplomats Day on Saturday, February 10th.
Furthermore, Maksimychev mentioned that Russia considered Africa a region of great importance in terms of its foreign policy objectives.
The Ambassador highlighted in his communication that, from Kenya’s perspective, Russia was exerting significant efforts to enhance collaboration between the two nations.
“Our trade grows steadily as I understand according to the Kenyan statistics, the trade volume between Russia and Kenya has reached $500 million (Ksh81 billion),” Maksimychev stated.
He mentioned that the government led by Vladimir Putin was making every effort to boost the levels of trade between Kenya and Russia.
“Russia is ready to cooperate with Kenya in every field that is of interest to the Kenyans themselves,” Maksimychev promised.
