Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, have landed in the United States ahead of a planned tour across several cities.
The couple touched down at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington, where they were warmly received by excited Kenyans living in the diaspora.
In a message shared on his official X account on Friday, July 11, Gachagua expressed gratitude for the warm reception.

“I arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport alongside my dear wife, Pastor Dorcas, to begin my engagement with Kenyans living in the US and members of the global community. The welcome from fellow Kenyans has been overwhelming, and I’m deeply grateful for the love and support,” he posted.
Gachagua left Kenya on the night of Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was seen off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by several political allies, including John Methu, Jane Njeri Maina, and Cleophas Malala.

Before his departure, the Democratic Change Party (DCP) leader told reporters he would be meeting with Kenyans abroad and members of the international community to discuss current issues facing Kenya.
“Tonight, I’ll be flying to the US to meet with our diaspora communities and share insights on the country’s situation,” he said during a Wednesday press conference.

During his US trip, Gachagua is expected to visit major cities such as Dallas, California, Seattle, Boston, and Baltimore. His itinerary includes town hall meetings and various community events aimed at connecting with Kenyans abroad.
This marks Gachagua’s first international trip since his removal from office in October 2024.
