Reuben Kigame Reveals the Game-Changer That Could Bring President Ruto Down
Reuben Kigame, a presidential candidate and gospel singer, has warned President William Ruto that hatred, taxes, misplaced priorities, and a Westernized approach to crucial issues will bring the government down.
In an open letter to the President, he stated, “These are the four things that can bring about your downfall sooner rather than later, and the sooner you turn around and do the right thing, the better.”
Mr. Kigame proposed a survival strategy to the president in his open letter. He suggested austerity measures designed to cut government spending.
Mr. Kigame, who is also a gospel singer and evangelist, stated that the 2023 Finance Bill was a vehicle with the specific intent of overtaxing Kenyans.
Mr. Kigame’s strategy calls for the President and other government officials to cease their international travel until at least July 2024.
Allow those you wish to meet to come to you or meet virtually. Start holding legislative and executive meetings at the State House or Parliament Buildings, or utilize virtual meetings. Not in private hotels;’ he said. ‘We don’t need them,’ he says of the fifty Chief Administrative Secretaries.

In addition, he proposed the elimination of “burdensome government positions such as the First Lady, Second Lady, and Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary.”
He urged a halt to proposed new taxes and the reinstatement of fuel and Unga subsidies to buy time for survival and the transition from short-term to long-term planning for the Kenyan people.
Regarding the proposed 3% housing levy, Mr. Kigame stated, “You cannot force people to live in homes they did not request.” People, he said, stated that food was their top priority.
“Your motivations become more transparent as you insist that they must have shelter before food. “It’s not the houses you want Kenyans to have; it’s what you and your friends will gain financially by building houses for Kenyans against their will,” he said.
Mr. Kigame stated that the issue could lead to the impeachment of both the president and the legislature, stating, “You cannot coercively take money from workers in the name of building them homes.” Mr. Kigame challenged anyone to show him a country that achieved economic stability and prosperity by impoverishing its citizens to the point where they had no income and then taxing them heavily.
Additionally, he cautioned the President that the impending doom could not be averted through the use of power.

He warned that attempting to force things through would only hasten the impending doom he was predicting. Mr. Kigame stated that to save himself and his government from impending doom, the President should learn to listen to the people more than his advisors.
Mr. Kigame, who was barred from contesting the 9 August presidential election by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), stated that the president was simply destroying the country.
Kigame is concerned that the president is being advised by fanatics who mislead him into believing that his rule thus far has been effective and on track.
“I understand that you are surrounded by many friends who may tell you that things are progressing for the best in the country. Mr. Kigame wrote, “I am sharing this letter from the perspective of a citizen to help you turn around and save yourself, your team, and the nation as a whole from destruction.”
Instead of leading the nation to the Promised Land, “you have been systematically destroying it so that every morning we are confronted with yet another layer of devastation.”

Mr. Kigame fears that if the situation is not remedied soon, “we will no longer have a country, but you can rest assured that we will not have you as president either.”

“Your deputy, Mr. Rigathi Gachagua, does the same, implying that the top leadership of our country is incapable of reconciling the nation. This attitude of return-for-return, tooth-for-tooth, and eye-for-eye will never work and will leave the nation toothless and blind,” he said.
He noted that Mr. Gachagua “stated with a straight face that your government belongs to the shareholders and that only those who voted for it have priority and precedence.” You did not come forward to refute this idea, implying that you concur with him”.

Mr. Kigame stated, “This attitude of vengeance, favoritism, and crony capitalism, in addition to your openly ethnic appointments, will not allow you to survive as a leader. Believe me. If you do not alter your behavior, Kenya will discard you as a leader. It was unsuccessful in the past. It’s not possible here. It will never succeed. It will bring you down if you do not change.”
He urged President Ruto to recognize that his role was analogous to that of a father in a nuclear family.
“You are the head, on top of everyone and everything, and you cannot go any higher; therefore, how you lead those beneath you is of utmost importance. In my experience as a father, there are no good or bad children. It is about assisting the misbehaving children in becoming better and ensuring that the home is habitable,” he said.
He advised the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government that “you cannot demonstrate how much of a father you are as president by destroying the house you all live in and spreading hatred and animosity within the household.”
Mr. Kigame stated that it is the president’s responsibility to seek reconciliation between the people and their God.
“You are overtaxing your fellow citizens while spending the proceeds extravagantly…this cannot lead to Kenya’s prosperity,” he wrote.

He went on to warn that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) were luring the president into an economic crisis by insisting that he implement excessive taxation and reckless privatization.
Mr. Kigame stated that the Kenya Kwanza government had the wrong priorities.
“Your obsession with implementing global policies and programs at the expense of our national sovereignty and integrity will bring about the end of your leadership,” he said.
Instead of empowering our local farmers, you have turned our country into a dumping ground for foreign goods, including maize, he added.
Mr. Kigame stated, “I am openly in love as I write this letter. I hope that you succeed. I wish for your success. Hence, the precautions. The blows of a friend are preferable to the kisses of an enemy.
