Renowned Pastor Ezekiel with Morgue and Cemetery in Custody: Passports Seized, Bank Accounts Frozen
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is investigating Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church for the alleged indoctrination of members.
This follows the deaths and recovery of bodies associated with the Good News International Church cult in Shakahola, Kilifi County, led by pastor Paul Mackenzie.
On Tuesday, April 25th, DCI agents investigating the mysterious deaths associated with the Mackenzie’s Shakahola cult questioned Pastor Ezekiel about his doctrine and church operations.
Pastor Odero recorded a statement regarding his alleged ties to pastor Mackenzie as part of the Kilifi DCIO-led operation.
The DCI team also inspected the Milele Funeral Home in Mavueni, Kilifi County, a morgue located close to Pastor Ezekiel’s church, and questioned the funeral home’s management about possible cult activities.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki stated on Tuesday, while inspecting the exhumation operation at Shakahola, that the National Police Service (NPS) is investigating flamboyant preachers whose teachings appear to be illegal.

To eliminate cultic worship in society. Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria of the Nyeri Archdiocese called for a financial audit of church leaders on Wednesday.
