Raila’s Warning: ‘Things Won’t Change’ as Ruto Accused of Micromanagement
Opposition leader Raila Odinga has come out guns blazing to accuse President William Ruto of micromanaging government affairs.
According to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party leader, President Ruto is singlehandedly attempting to handle too many crucial State functions at the same time and, hence is likely to fail.
The former premier went ahead to state that the opposition is, in the meantime, unwilling to sit at the table with and offer advice to the Kenya Kwanza administration due to what he intimated to be cluelessness masquerading as know-it-all.
โYou cannot be one person, youโre Mr. President, youโre the Permanent Secretary in all ministries, youโre the Minister, you know everythingโฆeven if El Nino is coming, youโre the one who knowsโฆthe work which should be done by the Director of Meteorology, is being done by you as a President,โ said Mr. Odinga.

โYouโre talking about everythingโฆeven if somebodyโs wife did not dress properly, youโre the one who knowsโฆthis is where we have a problem, and these people donโt know that they donโt know, and weโre not ready to advise them because they know everything.โ
The Azimio chief further stated that the current state of the economy and the high cost of living is unlikely to change anytime soon if the Ruto government does not change tact.
He also accused the President of making government appointments randomly without putting consideration on the offices or the roles he bestows upon various characters.
โRight now, first the civil service is demoralized; theyโre paying people from outside the civil service, being made Permanent Secretaries. Somebody who has never even been to Kabete to be trained in administration does not know how civil service is working,โ he said.
โThings are not going to get better because these people are messing up, they donโt know how to run a competitive economy. Things will not change.โ
