The ODM of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has expelled eleven MCAs from Kisumu County after they expressed interest in collaborating with President William Ruto.
The eleven were de-whipped on March 5 for their disloyalty to Raila during a meeting chaired by the majority leader of the Kisumu County Assembly, Ken Oluoch.
On March 2, eleven MCAs, led by Senator Tom Ojienda of Kisumu, met with Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo to discuss local politics and developments.

The ODM Parliamentary Group informed Kisumu Assembly Speaker Elisha Jack Oraro of the new political development in a letter.
Speaker Oraro confirmed receipt of the letter from ODM and outlined the pertinent legal provisions allowing the party to act on behalf of errand members.
ODM asserts that the eleven leaders violated the party’s constitution by promoting the ideals of a party other than the one that sponsored them to the assembly.
This comes just days after Raila forgave Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o and his friends for visiting Ruto without his permission at State House.
Odinga revealed, “I’ve received written communication from them stating that they did not defect from ODM and that they went to pursue those projects.”
