Rachel Ruto’s Heartfelt Message to Kenyans: Have Patience, Kenya Holds Promise
Sunday, May 21, First Lady Rachel Ruto urged Kenyans to remain calm despite the challenges facing the administration of President William Ruto.
The First Lady explained during a church service at Deliverance Church in Umoja, Nairobi, that the government is committed to ensuring that its agenda is carried out for the benefit of all citizens.
“Kenya is a great country. “We may be going through some difficulties, but it’s like building a house; there may be some cracks at first, but eventually everything will settle down,” stated the First Lady.
Additionally, Mama Rachel Ruto urged church leaders to support the bottom-up government agenda.
Part of the First Lady’s statement read, “The church plays a crucial role in the implementation of the projects envisioned in the bottom-up economic transformation agenda. I, therefore, urge church leaders to support this initiative.”
She singled out a multi-story residential housing development that will be constructed by Deliverance Church Umoja on Kangundo Road and challenged other leaders to present to identify similar potential projects in addition to the priority areas.
The First Lady also explained that the Kenya Kwanza government had plans to develop sectors involving the majority of Kenyans, such as agriculture, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME), housing and settlement, and manufacturing.
She was optimistic about the nation’s complete economic recovery from the effects of the prolonged drought, the worst in forty years.
After the Shakahola massacre, she urged church leaders to support the government’s agenda at a time when the church was under attack.

On Sunday, May 21, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki put rogue pastors on the spot by declaring that no one would be left in the church cleanup.
“The government will vigorously oppose anyone who uses religion to harm Kenyans,” he said.
“We will pursue all those hiding in churches to steal and harm people using the Bible in the same manner we pursued bandits until we ensure Kenyans receive justice,” he said.
Even as the search for survivors of the Shakahola massacre continues, Kindiki spoke during a thanksgiving service at the Victory Revival church in Tharaka Nithi County.
In the wake of the Shakahola massacre, which resulted in the exhumation of over 200 bodies, President William Ruto issued a stern warning to religious leaders on Sunday, April 30.
Ruto stated, “I will consult with all religious leaders in the country to form a task force to root out those who wish to abuse religion or conduct anti-religious business in Kenya.”
Alternatively, on May 6, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua defended the church and criticized those who condemned all religious leaders as a result of the Shakahola massacre.
During the installation of the Reverend Cleophas Oseso as the new bishop of the Nakuru Catholic Diocese, Gachagua urged the clergy to work together to eradicate those who preach false doctrines.
