President Ruto unveils landmark agreements to export Kenya’s talent abroad

President William Ruto announced on Sunday, June 18. That the government had signed bilateral agreements with a select number of foreign nations to export Kenya’s human capital.

During a thanksgiving ceremony in Kakamega, Ruto announced that the program would create one million jobs for youth.

The President explained that this was part of his campaign promise to end youth unemployment.

Kenyans will travel to Germany, Barbados, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada in search of employment.

“We have a problem with young Kenyans who are unemployed. During the campaign, we all agreed that we needed a strategy for job creation.

“This cannot occur by accident or by chance. The President stated that a deliberate, deliberate, and practical plan is required to ensure that there are jobs for our youth.

Ruto announced that he had already initiated the process to realize his vision by collaborating with relevant ministries.

“We are reforming the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and we have labor agreements with many countries,” he explained.

Ruto added that Kenyans working abroad remit Ksh4 billion annually, a sum that will increase exponentially after one million Kenyans travel abroad to work under the program.

Ruto explained how the scheme would help the nation prosper by stating, “We must utilize our labor to grow the economy.”

Instructions for applying;

Before traveling abroad, you must obtain a permit from the embassy of the foreign country.

This involves submitting pertinent documents, such as academic certificates, identification documents, proof of good conduct, evidence of professional experience, bank statements, and identification documents of close relatives.

Kenyans must also provide a letter of employment offer from the foreign nation.

The requirements of the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), which is issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), must be met by those who wish to work in Canada.
