President Ruto Mourns with Meru Deputy Governor Isaac M’Ethingia Following Mother’s Passing
President William Ruto has expressed his condolences to the family of Meru Deputy Governor Isaac M’Ethingia following the passing of his mother, Mama Joyce.
In his message, President Ruto praised Mama Joyce as a God-fearing and community-oriented woman. He extended his sympathies to the grieving family and prayed for God’s comfort during their loss.
“Our heartfelt condolences to Deputy Governor Isaac M’Ethingia on the passing of his beloved mother, Joyce. She was a devoted, God-fearing, and forward-thinking woman who dedicated her life to serving the community. May God bring comfort to her family and the people of Meru during this sorrowful time. Rest in peace,” the President stated.
Kenyans across the nation joined the President in offering their support and prayers to the family during this period of mourning.
Deputy Governor M’Ethingia is currently serving Meru County under the leadership of Governor Kawira Mwangaza. His career reflects a legacy of leadership and service.

Before stepping into his political role, he worked as a senior officer in the Kenya Prisons Service, where he demonstrated exemplary leadership and a strong commitment to justice.
In addition to his government service, M’Ethingia is a Reverend in the Methodist Churches of Kenya, highlighting his dedication to spiritual growth and community welfare.
He has also been actively involved in various leadership roles aimed at uplifting his community. His contributions include advocating for children’s rights with Plan International, serving as Chairman for key institutions, and acting as a Youth Representative for Habitat for Humanity in the Mount Kenya Region.
Furthermore, he worked as a Human Rights Officer and implemented rehabilitation programs for inmates within the prison system.
