    Power Outage Alert: Five Counties Brace for Tuesday Blackout

    Power Outage Alert: Five Counties Brace for Tuesday Blackout

    Kenya Power has announced that there will be scheduled power interruptions in areas across five counties on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

    The interruption is part of network maintenance, the company said.

    Parts of Nakuru county including the whole of Njoro town will be without power from 9 am to 4 pm.

    Other areas to be affected are Karlo, Kenana Farm, Maili Tatu, Bamboo Farm, Hortec Farm, Chemsian Farm, Sian Roses, Kenyatta Sun Rise, Sitienei Farm, Part of Piave and adjacent customers.

    In Nyahururu, the interruption will be effected within Rumuruti from 9 am to 4 pm in Kinamba, Olmoran, Kabel, Rumuruti, Muhotetu, Suguta, Marmar, Maralal town and adjacent customers.

    Kabebero, Kihuri, and Kairuthi areas within Nyeri county will also not be spared during the scheduled power outage from 8 am to 5 pm.

    The areas are Gathunguri TBC, Waihara, Thokoni TBC, Kihuri, Kabebero, Githimbai TBC, Karega TBC, Kiandemi, Kairuthi Health Center and Ngunyi TBC.

    Residents within Iriaini Market, Gathumbi village, Kahigaini, Iriaini Tea factory, Thunguri Market, and adjacent customers will also be affected.

    In Kiambu, Kenya Power says areas to be affected lie within the Thindigua and Muhasibu areas.

    Power in these areas will be out from 9 am to 5 pm, the utility firm said.

    These are Thindigua, Kigwa Farm, Paradise Lost, Muhasibu, Kwaheri Road, Fourways Junction, Bar Next Door, and adjacent customers.

    Down in Kilifi county, Kenya Power has scheduled power interruption from 9 am to 5 pm within Malindi.

    The precise locations are Malindi Airport, Malindi High School, Mbaraka Chembe, Takaye, Kwa Chocha and adjacent customers.
