Political Tempest Rocks Western Kenya: Leaders Point Fingers at Natembeya for Undermining Wetangula and Musalia
A new conflict is emerging in Western Kenya as leaders from Ford-Kenya have alleged that Trans Nzoia Governor Natembeya is undermining both Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
Addressing a funeral gathering in Bungoma County, the officials advised the Governor, highlighting his role in impeding the region’s progress toward its political goals.
As per the leaders, Natembeya’s ongoing comments regarding the two senior leaders and politicians from Ford-Kenya, in general, are deemed disrespectful and inconsistent with his role as a community leader.
As a result, they advised the Governor to honor their leadership and refrain from portraying them negatively.
Moreover, they emphasized that the party holds the distinction of being the second-oldest in Kenya and thus deserves the Governor’s respect.
Nevertheless, certain leaders warned the Governor that they were prepared to prolong the confrontation if he intended to proceed in that direction.

In his justification, the Governor clarified that he didn’t hesitate to highlight the errors of Western leaders if he believed they were leading the community astray.
“When we say that is not the direction, that is not lack of respect, I will not accept us to be led blindly because if I say we are not moving in the right direction I will be accused of disrespected,’’ stated Natembeya
Moreover, MCAs aligned with the Governor clashed with counterparts from the Ford-Kenya Party on Saturday regarding the ongoing deadlock, accusing the party of undermining the Governor’s authority.
Nonetheless, members of Ford-Kenya alleged that the Governor had disregarded and weakened their leader, Moses Wetangala.
Previously, Natembeya expressed that the leaders of the party are unfit for leadership as they are misguiding the Luhya community.
The ongoing disputes within the community have persisted, with various groups maintaining their stance that they are correct.
