Police Rescue Baby Dumped in Kisii Church Toilet

Police in Kisii successfully rescued a newborn baby girl. She had been abandoned in a latrine located within the premises of the Rioma Catholic Church compound in Marani.

At 2.30 pm on Tuesday, passersby found the four-day-old crying.

The locals alerted the police, who promptly responded to the distress call.

The police officers had to demolish the toilet to rescue the baby girl. She wrapped in rags and in a lot of pain but otherwise unharmed.

Locals praised the officers for entering the filthy latrine and braving the heat to save the baby.

The baby girl rushed to Marani Level 4 Hospital after the rescue.

The police and DCI are searching the church compound for the baby’s mother.

The successful rescue of the baby girl has been hailed as a miracle by many, given the unsanitary and dangerous conditions in which she was found.

It is not yet clear what led to the abandonment of the infant, but investigations are ongoing.

The incident has once again highlighted the need for greater awareness and support for vulnerable mothers and infants in society, to prevent cases of child abandonment and neglect.

Overall, the quick response and effective action taken by the police officers in Kisii have resulted in the rescue of a precious life, and their efforts are worthy of praise and recognition.

The authorities must now ensure that the baby girl receives the necessary care and protection she deserves and that justice is served for the person responsible for her abandonment.
