Police Officer Badly Hurt in Clash with Civilians
In Naivasha Town, a traffic police officer sustained serious injuries on Saturday night after being attacked by a crowd during a confrontation with a bystander at the site of an accident.
Reports indicate that a police officer supposedly struck a witness on the head with his handcuffs when the civilian challenged the officer about delays in handling the situation.
After a tense argument between the officer and the onlookers at the scene, one of the bystanders reportedly used a shirt to choke the officer.
In response to the attack, the officer used his handcuffs to strike the man, which upset the residents.
Angry residents allegedly attacked the officer, hitting him repeatedly and ultimately causing him to fall into a ditch.
He is said to have sustained severe injuries during the incident and is recovering from them.

The group of colleagues who tried to rescue him ended up in trouble themselves when the mob attacked them.
The conflict arose due to an incident involving a motorcycle taxi that got caught between two trucks.
The specifics of the accident indicate that the motorbike rider died instantly, but the passenger lived.
The injured passenger was quickly taken to Naivasha General Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for severe injuries.
Recently, police officers have become targets of mob justice, with several incidents being reported.
On March 31, residents of Nyandarua marched to a police station, where they compelled police officers to release a suspected cattle thief and subsequently killed him by lynching.
