Police Expose Priest’s 6-Year Relationship After Girlfriend Confession
Gatanga Sub-County Commander and main investigator Lawrence Njau revealed that Ruai Parish Catholic Priest Joseph Kariuki’s relationship with his girlfriend lasted six years.
The police commander disclosed in an exclusive interview with GossipA2Z that the girlfriend’s confession came after she recorded a statement with the police.
Commander Njau added that the couple had frequented the hotel in Murang’a throughout their relationship.
“The girlfriend clarified the nature of her relationship with the cleric, stating that they had been together for over six years. She also disclosed that they had frequented the hotel on numerous occasions,” Njau said.
The detective stated that investigations were ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the priest’s demise and whether the priest’s relationship with his girlfriend played a role.
Commander Njau added that once the burial preparation schedule is released, the Catholic church will determine when the post-mortem examination will be administered.

“It (post-mortem) has not yet been performed. The Catholic church will make the decision. They will prepare the body for burial and let us know when we can conduct the autopsy, at which point I will dispatch my officers, he asserted.
On Friday, July 7, before retiring to his room, Kariuki reportedly placed an order for a chicken and spirits totaling around Ksh6,000. His girlfriend introduced herself to the hotel employees as a colleague of the priest from Ruai Parish shortly thereafter.
The following morning, as the priest began to feel dizzy and eventually lost consciousness, his fiancée panicked. She contacted the hotel management immediately for assistance.
A driver and an employee were designated immediately to handle the situation. Two individuals transported the priest’s corpse to his vehicle.
Two officers from the Samuru Police Patrol Base accompanied the party to the Kenol Hospital in Murang’a County. On arrival, he was pronounced deceased.
A sample of the food and drink consumed by the priest and his companion was collected for further examination.
Once an autopsy has been performed, police investigators will be able to discover the cause of death.
