Police Discover Drugs on Pauline Njoroge

Pauline Njoroge, the Deputy Organising Secretary of the Jubilee Party, was apprehended on Saturday evening, July 22, while in possession of four rolls of desiccated plant material suspected to be narcotics.

According to a police report viewed by GossipA2Z, police intercepted a vehicle with three occupants, including Njoroge, on the Watamu-Jacaranda road and allegedly discovered narcotics upon further inspection.

Officers from the Watamu Police Station escorted the three individuals to the Mawe Zuri Resort, where they discovered a clear container containing ten (10) tablets suspected of being controlled substances.

During a subsequent examination of the room occupied by Pauline Njoroge, the police allegedly discovered a container containing fifty (fifty) tablets that were believed to be controlled substances.

The suspects were apprehended and charged with possession of narcotics and psychotropic substances, and their vehicle was impounded.

There were widespread rumors that the digital strategist was detained for tweets she had posted.

Before her detention at 4:30 p.m., Njoroge sent out a tweet condemning the government’s brutal treatment of Nyanza residents and demanding an end to the violence.

A few weeks prior, Njoroge claimed that the Kenya Kwanza administration offered her a position in the government, but she declined.

The revelation was a response to claims made by Silas Jakakimba, a former aide to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, that former President Uhuru Kenyatta left a financial void in the country.

“My brother, you are here claiming that the previous regime left a large financial hole that (President William) Ruto is attempting to fill, yet last week you and your very senior government associates offered me Ksh500,000 per month to cross over? Where would that money come from if the country’s finances were in shambles?” She struck a pose.

Njoroge has previously used social media to criticize President Ruto’s administration. She is the most recent member of Azimio to be detained by the police.

Others included Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino, Kilifi South Member of Parliament Ken Chonga, Kilifi County Speaker Teddy Mwambire, MCA Mabatini Wilfred Odallo, and MCA Ngei Ward Redson Onyango.

Erick Otieno and Anthony Otsula (budget officers at Nairobi County Assembly), Maurice Ogeta (Raila’s security), and Dennis Onyango (Raila Odinga secretariat spokesperson) were also apprehended.

A few days later, Babu Owino, the spokesperson for Raila, Onyango, and his bodyguard Ogeta were released.
