Police Arrest Man Who Chopped Woman Into Pieces on Christmas Day

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the arrest of the prime suspect linked to the brutal murder of a woman in Nakuru on Christmas Day.

In an official statement, the DCI confirmed the suspect was apprehended at his hideout after an intensive manhunt. The unidentified womanโ€™s body had been discovered in Ngomongo, Bahati, under horrific circumstances.ย ย

โ€œA team of detectives from DCI headquarters arrested the main suspect believed to have killed a middle-aged woman in Nakuru on December 25, 2024,โ€ the statement read.

The suspect, who worked at Ngomongo Village in Rurii, allegedly committed the gruesome act before fleeing. The victim was found mutilated, with her eyes gouged out and other severe injuries. Her remains were stuffed into a sack, and discovered alongside a bloodied hammer and knife.

The employer reportedly uncovered the crime scene after noticing blood near the staff quarters and alerted the police. The victimโ€™s body was moved to Nakuru Annex Hospital Mortuary, while authorities pursued the suspect, now under interrogation.

Police suspect the accused may be related to the victim and are investigating the motive behind the crime.ย ย

This shocking incident is one of several Christmas Day murders reported in Nakuru County. In Bahati, a Kenya Defence Forces officer allegedly killed a 74-year-old man during a festive gathering. The officer is in custody at Githioro Police Station.

Additionally, in Elementaita, Gilgil Sub-County, residents protested the brutal rape and murder of a 75-year-old woman on Christmas Day. Authorities are actively investigating both cases to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Police have urged the public to shun such heinous acts and vowed to ensure justice for the victims.
