Police and KDF Clash in Kakamega Bar Over Ksh 4K Bill

A brawl broke out at a bar in Musoli, Kakamega County, involving Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers and Kenya Police officers due to an unpaid bill.

According to a police report acquired by Gossipa2z.com, the incident took place on Sunday when three officers entered the bar for a night of relaxation.

The bar owner, who informed the authorities about the incident, stated that he served drinks to the group amounting to Ksh4,250, but they declined to pay the bill.

He added that as they were departing, they took his phone, and when he pursued them outside the bar, they started attacking him.

“The commotion attracted members of the public and police officers who were on foot patrol within Musoli Centre,” read the police report in part.

Police officers from Musoli Police Station, situated 500 meters away, arrived at the scene of the disturbance. The intoxicated officers also engaged in a physical altercation with them, attacking them with kicks and punches.

The offenders were, however, subdued before being arrested.

“They were placed in custody while very violent and drunk. They also maliciously damaged the cell’s steel door,” added the police report.

“The three refused to give their names and particulars but are suspected to be KDF and Kenya Police officers.”

“They were all placed in custody for the offenses of assault, assaulting police officers, and malicious property damage,” the report further added.

The police stated that the suspects have been detained and are currently waiting to be identified by military police and the National Police Service (NPS).

This follows a day after two distinct episodes involving police and KDF personnel were documented at the Likoni Ferry and Rabai Sub-County.

On Saturday, a video circulated showing five on-duty servicemen assaulting police officers and security personnel stationed at the Likoni Ferry.

In another event, a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer assigned to Garissa entered a police station in Rabai Sub-county, Kilifi County, and released a suspect who was his cousin.
