    ODM Postpones Elections Until Further Notice

    The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has postponed its planned county delegate elections inย Busia County.

    In a statement released on Thursday, August 21, the partyโ€™s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) confirmed that the elections will not take place as earlier scheduled and asked members to wait for a new date.

    โ€œThe county delegate elections for Busia, which were to be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, have been postponed until further notice. Members and stakeholders are advised to await official communication,โ€ the NECC said.

    ODM assured its members that new dates will be announced soon and called for patience among those affected.

    โ€œFresh dates will be shared in due course. Members in the affected areas are urged to remain patient and wait for official updates,โ€ the statement added.

    ODM Issues Notice on Membership Verification Ahead of By-Elections

    At the same time, ODM has reminded its members in various constituencies and wards to take part in the ongoing verification exercise ahead of upcoming by-elections.

    In a separate statement on Tuesday, August 19, the party said the process is being conducted in line with communication from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

    The exercise covers members in several constituencies, including Baringo, Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja.

    It also extends to wards such as Angata Nanyokie, Chemundu/Kapngโ€™etuny, Chewani, Fafi, Kariobangi North, Kisa East, Metkei, Mumbuni North, Kabuchai/Chwele, Narok Town, Purko, Tembelio, Nyansiongo, Nyamaiya, Ekereriyo, Lake Zone, and Nnaam.

    ODM stressed that the verification is important to ensure that only registered members participate in the by-elections.

    โ€œParty membership verification is ongoing. Members in the listed areas should confirm their details to prepare for the upcoming by-elections,โ€ the party noted.

    Members can check their details by dialing *483*036# or visiting the partyโ€™s membership portal at www.odmmembership.com.
