“NO ONE CAN TOUCH RUTO!” – MP NYAMITA TEARS INTO GACHAGUA, KARUA, AND WAMALWA IN BRUTAL TV CLASH
Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita has dismissed talks of President William Ruto being a one-term leader, saying no serious political force exists that can unseat him in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s DayBreak show during a live panel discussion, Nyamita said those predicting President Ruto’s early exit from office are misinformed. He noted that while a few opposition leaders have joined hands to form a coalition against the president, they still lack the strength, influence, and unity needed to challenge him effectively.
Nyamita argued that the newly formed alliance of opposition politicians, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, lacks both public trust and a clear agenda.
“People saying President Ruto will only serve one term are simply wrong. There’s no powerful political force right now that can remove him. Gachagua is stuck in tribal politics, Karua doesn’t have any real influence across the country, and as for Wamalwa — if you remove his last name, you’re left with Eugene, and let’s be honest, he doesn’t command any national support,” Nyamita said during the interview.
The Uriri lawmaker challenged opposition leaders to stop spreading propaganda and instead present serious plans that address the issues affecting ordinary Kenyans. According to him, Kenyans need leaders who can provide solutions, not just noise and blame games.
The leaders currently opposing Ruto’s administration include Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc Kenya’s Martha Karua, Democratic Action Party’s Eugene Wamalwa, and former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, among others.
Gachagua Launches New Political Party, Ditches UDA
On Thursday, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua officially launched a new political outfit called the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP). The party is aimed at offering what he called “real change” and addressing Kenya’s long-standing issues of poor governance.
Gachagua revealed that he has spent the past six months at his rural home consulting with various leaders, youth groups, and community elders to create a people-driven political movement.
“This party is about the people of Kenya. We need to rescue our country from leaders who have forgotten their promises. I took time away from the political noise to listen to Kenyans. DCP is the result of those honest conversations,” Gachagua said during the party’s unveiling.
Just days earlier, Gachagua resigned from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party he helped build. He strongly criticized it, calling it the “most dangerous political environment” for both citizens and the country at large.
His move signals a clear break from President Ruto, who he once served under as Deputy. Gachagua’s departure from UDA and the launch of DCP now sets the stage for a potentially heated political battle in the run-up to 2027.
Opposition Faces an Uphill Task
Despite Gachagua’s bold step, Nyamita remains confident that President Ruto will win re-election. He said the opposition has yet to prove that it can present a united front or a convincing alternative.
“The opposition is all over the place. There is no unity, no clear message, and no new ideas. You can’t remove a sitting president just by complaining on TV or holding press briefings. You need a strong message that connects with the people,” he added.
As the 2027 General Election approaches, Kenya’s political landscape is starting to shift. However, according to Nyamita, President Ruto’s support remains solid — and until the opposition shows serious leadership and a united plan, removing him from office may be nothing more than wishful thinking.
