Nigeria Drama: Ex-Rivers HoS Nwaeke Exposes Wife’s ‘Kidnap’ Lie — Says She Was Fed Fake Script To Discredit Him After Explosive Gov Fubara Allegations

Former Rivers State Head of Service, George Nwaeke, has denied reports that he was kidnapped, following accusations he made against Governor Sim Fubara.

Naija News earlier reported that Nwaeke accused Governor Fubara of causing the ongoing crisis in Rivers State. He also claimed the governor was working with militants to damage oil pipelines. Soon after, Nwaeke’s wife raised an alarm, saying he was missing. She suggested he may have been kidnapped and forced to speak against the governor.

However, Nwaeke has now released a video clearing the air. He said he is safe and staying at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Nwaeke: I Am Safe and Not Kidnapped

In the video shared on Saturday, Nwaeke explained that he travelled to Abuja to report security issues in Rivers State. He said the troubling events in the state made him feel sick and pushed him to resign as Head of Service on Monday.

“My name is Frank Nwaeke. I’m at Transcorp in Abuja. I arrived this morning from Port Harcourt to meet security agencies and report what is happening in Rivers State. I was the Head of Service until Monday when I resigned because of these issues,” he said.

Nwaeke dismissed the claims made by his wife, stating that people misled her and gave her a false script to read.

“After my interview, I saw a video of my wife trending. They told her I was kidnapped and asked her to say things that are not true. I want to make it clear that I am fine and safe here in Abuja.”

He also stressed that his wife is not involved in his official work and does not know what happens in his office.

Nwaeke Plans to Meet Security Agencies

Nwaeke added that he will visit all the security agencies’ headquarters in Abuja to officially report the security challenges in Rivers State.

“My coming to Abuja is to report myself and the situation in Rivers. I believe I will be safe here to speak the truth.”
