NHIF Reforms: Unemployed Kenyans to Pay Ksh1,000 Monthly

On Saturday, June 24, a Safari Rally driver was airlifted to the hospital after sustaining injuries during the ongoing WRC Safari Rally in Naivasha.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta Rally 2, who was competing in the second leg of the rally, crashed during the final phase of the competition on a high-speed section.

Mike Gitonga, Secretary of State for Functions, told GossipA2Z that the driver sustained critical injuries but was stable and being monitored by physicians.

Expect significant congestion on Naivasha Road. The driver’s condition is stable, according to the Secretary of State for Functions.

The driver crashed between Kikopei and Gilgil, a stretch that most rally drivers find challenging.

In an ambulance, paramedics arrived at the accident scene and immediately began administering first aid to the driver.

Before recommending that he be airlifted, the doctors inspected his vital organs and assessed the severity of his injuries.

Then, a privately operated helicopter landed in the middle of the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway, obstructing traffic as the rally driver was airlifted to a hospital for further treatment.

According to reports, the driver lost control and crashed on the Elmenteita-Nakuru segment of the rally route before reaching Gilgil.

The seventh round of the World Rally Championship in 2023 is the Nakuru Safari Rally.

The 22nd of June marked the beginning of this year’s competition, during which participants experienced nearly five days of pure excitement.

There were over 19 special stages, with a total competitive distance of 356.98 kilometers.

The terrain of the stages located in Nakuru County included gravel, asphalt, and dirt.

The terrain was especially difficult because the weather was unpredictable.

In addition, the drivers had to contend with the large number of spectators who lined up around the stages.

In the early hours of Saturday, June 24, the penultimate leg was plagued by rain.

Ott Tanak and Pierre-Louis Loubet of M-Sport Ford, Grรฉgoire Munster, and Kajetan Kajetanowicz were among the top 10 drivers as of June 24.
