New Details Emerge of Nairobi Businessman Abducted at Carwash

Joseph Ndegwa Kamau, a Nairobi-based merchant, was kidnapped from a carwash at Kayole Junction along Kangundo Road. His daughter has revealed details of a phone call her family received on the day he was taken.

Cynthia Kamau told PoliticalPulseChat on Saturday that her father had signed a contract with a businessman who demanded a refund.

According to the daughter, the transaction may have involved the purchase of a piece of property in Kitengelea, Kajiado County, as her father was a prominent land dealer.

Each contributed Ksh350,000, but the businessman withdrew from the transaction and requested a refund.

“The businessman called demanding the amount on that Thursday that Kamau (the father) went missing,” she reported.

According to her account, the family returned the Ksh350,000 through his attorney on Thursday, October 19th. However, the trader had not yet collected his money, adding to the enigma surrounding the case.

The businessman reportedly went into seclusion after the abduction of her father.

Since Kamau’s abduction from a carwash at Kayole Junction along Kangundo Road two weeks ago, this case has garnered significant public interest.

Thursday, October 12, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the incident occurred.

According to the missing person’s poster on social media platforms, four armed men in a white double-cabin abducted Kamau.

At the time, he had gone to the car wash to meet with business associates and have his vehicle cleaned. The armed men abducted him and loaded him into their vehicle before fleeing.

The family reported a case of missing individuals to the Kayole Police Station.
