ODM Party leader Raila Odinga was absent from the funeral of Chief Defence Forces (CDF) Francis Ogolla.
Why did Raila miss Francis Ogolla’s funeral?
At the service, Raila’s older brother and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga offered condolences, mentioning that Raila was unwell.
Shortly after, the ex-prime minister was seen at Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium.
The politician attended the Mashemeji derby, a match between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
Raila was joined by fellow Azimio la Umoja members, such as ODM Deputy Party leader Wycliffe Oparanya and the governor of Trans Nzoia county, George Natembeya.
Gor Mahia triumphed in the game with a score of 1-0.
Governor Natembeya took to Facebook to post pictures from the event.
“Game well played,” he captioned the post.

Details about Francis Ogolla’s death
Francis Ogolla lost his life in a chopper crash on Thursday, April 18, in Kaben, Elgeyo Marakwet county.
Ogolla’s daughter, Lorna Achieng, mourned her beloved father.
A video of President William Ruto claiming the KDF boss tried to overturn his victory after the August 2022 election re-emerged.
Raila visited Ogolla’s home with other Azimio leaders to comfort the bereaved family.
