National Assembly Releases Vetting Schedule for President Ruto’s New Cabinet Nominees

The National Assembly Clerk released the vetting schedule for President William Rutoโ€™s new cabinet nominees on Thursday, July 25.

The vetting process is set from Thursday, August 1, to Sunday, August 4, as per the notification of approval hearings.

The vetting order came after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula referred the nominees to the Committee Appointments for House approval.

Kithure Kindiki is first in line for vetting for the Interior and National Administration position.

This role was previously held by Kindiki before President Ruto dismissed his cabinet amid nationwide unrest.

On Thursday, August 1, nominees Debra Barasa (Health), Alice Wahome (Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development), Julius Ogamba (Education), and Roselinda Soipan Tuya (Defence) will also be vetted.

Friday, August 2, will see the Committee vetting Andrew Karanja for Agriculture and Livestock Development, replacing Mithika Linturi.

On the same day, the Committee will vet Aden Duale (Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry), Eric Muuga (Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation), Davis Chirichir (Roads and Transport), and Margaret Ndungโ€™u (Information, Communication and Digital Economy).

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman John Mbadi will be vetted on Saturday, August 3, for National Treasury and Economic Planning.
