Natembeya Slams Mudavadi for Lack of Ambition: “He Was Minister When Ruto Was in High School”
Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya has asserted that the progress of the Luhya community has been hindered due to the roles played by Prime Cabinet Minister Musalia Mudavadi and the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula.
Natembeya criticized Mudavadi for what he sees as a lack of ambition, noting that Mudavadi entered politics when President William Ruto was still in secondary school.

Mudavadi, who also served as the Cabinet Secretary of Foreign Affairs in Ruto’s administration, became the minister for finance during the late former President Daniel Moi’s tenure at the age of 33.
“There is poverty nationwide. However, within the Luhya community, our poverty is largely attributed to the two long-standing government leaders, each with four decades of tenure.
When Ruto was in high school, Musalia Mudavadi was a minister in the late former president Daniel Moi’s government. It’s been years and now Ruto, who was in high school, has employed Mudavadi as his cabinet secretary. That is our problem and is the reason why we are asking them to step down,” he said.
Natembeya calls for Luhya unity
Emphasizing the importance of unity within the Luhya community, Governor Natembeya urged his fellow community members to rally behind a single leader for the upcoming elections.
He expressed doubts about Mudavadi and Wetang’ula’s suitability for leadership, citing conflicts in their roles within the government hierarchy.
