Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua Open to Collaborating with Rigathi Gachagua
Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc Kenya Party, shared her thoughts on the possibility of working with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during an interview on Monday, December 23, with Citizen TV.
She expressed her willingness to collaborate with him, emphasizing that there was no personal animosity between them.
โI cannot rule out working with anyone. He is not my enemy. Kenya has one common adversary, which is William Ruto and his regime,โ Karua stated.
However, she clarified that no discussions had taken place between the two as Gachagua had not reached out to her. She remarked, โI have not talked to him, and he has not sought me out.โ
Karua also highlighted that their lack of interaction does not translate to hostility. โJust because we havenโt sat down doesnโt make him my enemy. He might have done things that annoyed me, but thatโs normal. People can mend fences. For now, he operates in his space, and I operate in mine,โ she explained.

Karua on Working with Political Opponents
Karua stressed that political differences do not prevent her from working with others. She pointed to her relationships with Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, with whom she has occasionally disagreed politically but maintained close ties.
โWeโve had political differences with people like Raila and even Uhuruโs recent decisions. But those are just political mattersโthey remain my brothers and friends,โ she noted.
Despite Uhuru Kenyattaโs decision to align with President Ruto, Karua confirmed that their friendship remained strong.
Gachaguaโs Political Moves and Speculations
Since his impeachment in October, Rigathi Gachagua has been rallying support in his home region. This has sparked speculation about his potential move to join an opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Several opposition leaders, including Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, have hinted at the formation of a grand coalition. Many are now watching closely to see if Gachagua will officially align with this growing alliance.
