The main suspect in the murder, Jackton Odhiambo, was also denied bond.
Dennis Litali, the 2017 Mr. Uasin Gishu, has been denied bond.
He is a suspect in the assassination of gay model Edwin Chiloba.
Litali, who is also a finalist in the East African Bodybuilding 2022 competition, told senior resident magistrate Richard Odenyo on Tuesday that his arrest was a police cover-up.
The main suspect in the murder, Jackton Odhiambo, was also denied bond.
Odhiambo argued before a court in Eldoret that his family would perish if he remained in custody.

“I request bond release so that I can continue working to support my family,” he said.
On Monday, a court in Eldoret granted police a 21-day detention order for five suspects in the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo alias Chiloba.
Senior Principal Richard Odenyo granted the DCI 21 days to hold the suspects to allow investigations to be completed.
Mr. Litali also informed the court that the other four suspects in the room were strangers to him.
“All of these people being held as suspects with me are strangers I’ve never met. Detaining me for three weeks will cause a lot of pain and anguish for my young family,” Mr. Litali explained.
Mr. Litali, who appeared composed in the dock, urged the investigating officer to expedite the murder investigation so that Kenyans could learn the truth about the incident.
However, the court rejected the plea and allowed police to detain the suspect for 21 days.

“Due to the gravity of the situation and the nature of the investigations involved, this court will permit the police to detain the suspects at the Langas police station until the investigations are completed,” the Magistrate ruled.
