Mutahi Ngunyi tells off those pushing the ‘Ruto must go agenda’

Mutahi Ngunyi, a political analyst, has criticized those who have advocated for the “Ruto must go agenda.”

The presidency, according to Ngunyi, is the lowest level of leadership to which President William Ruto can ascend.

He insisted that the President could only ascend further if he had to descend.

Ngunyi continued by citing former United States President John F. Kennedy, who stated that one learns the presidency through practical experience rather than formal education.

He further stated that the detractors ought to allow Ruto to regain his equilibrium.

“Ruto must go. Go where? This is as low as he can go. From here, he can only go up. And “UP” he will go. There is no school for the Presidency (JF Kennedy). You learn on the job. And if the first year is not bumpy, you are not learning. Give him a chance,” Ngunyi said.

His remarks are made against the backdrop of social media videos featuring Kenyans bemoaning the exorbitant cost of living and taxes.

As a consequence, certain cabinet secretaries have been subjected to booing from the audiences.

Leaders of the opposition have been riding the same trend, as the majority of these incidents have transpired in areas that are considered to be Ruto’s strongholds.

Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen, who was conducting a peace football tournament in Kabarnet, Baringo County, was the last to be victimized.e

In a video obtained by the Star, Murkomen encountered difficulty in communicating with attendees who were overheard chanting “Ruto Must Go.”

The competition was forced to conclude prematurely.

Murkomen quipped in a statement released following the incident that the Ruto that the crowds demanded be removed was an official of the match that sparked the altercation.

In addition, he described the circumstances surrounding the adolescents’ demonstrations.

“The officials did their best to resolve the matter, but the Baringo central team were not satisfied. Being the home team, and with their fans being more than half of the stadium, it was impossible to proceed with the match. The players and the fans poured their frustrations on FKF officials, especially one Mr. Ruto, whom they felt, was not addressing their concerns. I appreciate all the volunteers who have so far made the OKM Peace Cup a success,” he said.
