Singer Gilad Millo has revealed that his son Omer will join the Israel Defense Forces as a reservist to help Israel combat Gaza.

This comes at a time when the war between Israel and Gaza has escalated to monumental proportions leaving thousands of people dead and others nursing injuries.

In a statement on his Facebook Page, Gilad said his son was received at the airport in Israel despite many cancellations.

“Early this morning our son Omer landed in Israel to join his paratrooper unit as a reservist in the Israel Defense Forces,” Gilad said.

“Omer finished his army service over a year ago and was surfing in Nicaragua on October 7 when Hamas terrorists butchered over 1,300 innocent Israelis,” he added.

The ‘Sema Milele’ hitmaker is Israeli-born but acquired Kenyan citizenship in December 2021 after 21 years of stay in the adopted country.

Gilad added that her daughter, Lia, is also a soldier who has been helping to train medical teams.

The musician added that both his children grew up in Kenya and chose to join the Israeli army out of a sense of duty.

“Both of them have lost people they know in these horrendous attacks as have all of their friends,” he said.

“Kids your Mother and I are as proud as any parent can be of their children for the incredible human beings you have become, our hearts are full. We pray to God to keep you both safe and healthy.”

Israeli bombardment of Gaza has continued unabated since last Saturday when Hamas fighters launched a surprise attack on the country.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to sustain the assault until every member of the Hamas is dead.

Israeli forces were by Friday preparing to launch a ground invasion of Gaza in an apparent door-to-door search for the Palestinian fighters.

The UN said on Friday residents in the occupied Gaza Strip had been ordered to evacuate within 24 hours before the insurgency gets underway.
