MP Mbai Urges Kalonzo: Suspend 2027 Ambitions, Back Ruto

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has urged Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to set aside his 2027 presidential aspirations and endorse President William Ruto’s bid for re-election instead.

Mbai said Kalonzo should not assume he will be endorsed for the top seat in the next elections.

“Just weigh yourself, you cannot compete against Raila, you cannot compete against Ruto. You can only join either of them but Raila’s side is not an option since you’ve been there four times. Just join William Ruto for posterity,โ€ said Mbai.

The UDA MP in his second term expressed his dedication to tirelessly strengthen Ruto’s support in Kitui, aiming to secure more than half of the entire county’s votes for him in the 2027 elections.

In 2022, Ruto got 28 percent of the total votes cast in the county.

Mbai said the Wiper leader should consider forming a winning coalition with Ruto.

He warned that the Kamba community risks being in opposition again if they do not support Ruto.

Mbai spoke at his rural home in Nzouni, Kitui East Constituency.

Mbai who is rooting for Kitui County UDA chairmanship in forthcoming party elections urged the Kamba community to support the ruling regime for development interests.

The UDA MP observed that Kalonzo will not get into government unless he agrees to work with Ruto in 2027.
