Morara Kebaso: “How I Spent My HELB Loan on ODM Premium Membership”
Activist Morara Kebaso revealed that he served as a youth leader in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) at the age of 22.
During an interview on Friday, December 13, Morara shared that he utilized part of his Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) funds to secure a premium membership in the ODM party, which cost Ksh 20,000.
He explained that at the time, he strongly believed in the party’s vision and enjoyed the full support of his parents, who were staunch backers of Raila Odinga’s leadership.
Recalling his early political involvement, Morara remarked, “I was a youth leader in ODM when I was 22 years old. I remember I spent some of my HELB money to pay for a premium membership. I had a lot of hope in ODM and believed in it. My parents have supported ODM.”
However, Morara expressed disappointment in Raila Odinga, accusing him of aligning with the current regime and exploiting the Gen Z protests for political gain.
