Migori: Grade Four Pupil Kills Himself Inside Classroom
Police in collaboration with the provincial administrators have launched an investigation into the death of a pupil aged 12, who is suspected to have killed himself inside a class at Sare primary school in Awendo, Migori County.
The area Chief, Paul Ogweno, said the body of the grade four pupil was found hanging inside the classroom on Tuesday morning by pupils who had just reported to school.
Ogweno said they are yet to establish what transpired before the boy took his life. The minor’s mother said the learner left home early in the morning and had not expressed any problem he had.

The body of the deceased was moved to Rapcom Hospital mortuary pending autopsy and police investigation.
Meanwhile, the area chief has called on parents to have frequent talks with their children so that they can learn able to know some of the challenges they are going through.
He said many children could be mentally unwell because of family issues among others. Without the attention and emotional support of parents, they resolve to suicide.
Ogweno said there is a need for both children and adults to get necessary psychosocial support when they are stressed.
Migori County has had increasing cases of mental illness according to the data from the county department of health.
