MCSK Denies Reports of CEO Ezekiel Mutua’s Termination
The Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) has officially dismissed claims circulating on social media that it has terminated the employment of its Chief Executive Officer, Ezekiel Mutua. In a statement issued to newsrooms, MCSK’s National Chairman, Ephantus Kamau, clarified that the letter making the rounds is fake.
Kamau urged the public to disregard the misinformation. He emphasized that the interim board is fully committed to serving the MCSK members and ensuring the smooth running of the organization.

According to Kamau, the individual who allegedly authored the letter is simply a member of the board and does not hold any authority to make such decisions. Furthermore, he pointed out that this person’s tenure ends on February 16, 2025. He also revealed that the individual is currently involved in legal proceedings for contempt of court orders and is awaiting further direction from the courts.
โWe will provide updates on this matter in due course,โ Kamau said in his statement.
The letter that was shared online claimed that the MCSK board of directors had decided to terminate Ezekiel Mutuaโs tenure as CEO, effective April 3, 2025. It also mentioned that Mutua was no longer authorized to conduct any business on behalf of MCSK.
The notice went on to state that MCSK would not be held responsible for any actions, engagements, or obligations made by Mutua with third parties after the alleged termination.
