She specifically condemned the recent surge in abductions, which are allegedly carried out by individuals suspected to be police officers. Karua pointed out the irony of law enforcers, who are supposed to safeguard citizens, being linked to such acts.
The veteran politician urged the government, led by President William Ruto, to put an end to these troubling incidents. She emphasized that the kidnappings, disappearances, and extrajudicial killings disproportionately affect innocent young people in Kenya.
“This worrying trend of abducting and killing our youth must stop immediately,” Karua declared.
Her resolve to contest for the presidency and stand against injustice has been viewed as a clear signal of the growing dissatisfaction with the current leadership.
