Man Flees After Hacking Father to Death Over Missing Pig in Kakamega

In a harrowing incident in the village of Shilalyo, situated in the Shinyalu region of Kakamega County, a 25-year-old man has been accused of brutally killing his father after a heated argument concerning a missing pig.

The tragic event unfolded on Sunday night when the young man returned home to find that his pig was nowhere to be seen.

This discovery sparked a major dispute between him and his grandfather, who was also present at the time.

The situation escalated rapidly as the young man expressed his frustration and anger over the missing animal.

The argument soon became intense, drawing the intervention of the father, who was 49 years old and had a large family consisting of ten children.

To defuse the situation and mediate between his son and father, the father stepped in. However, his attempt to resolve the conflict took a dark turn.

During the confrontation, the 25-year-old son lost his temper and violently attacked his father.

In a fit of rage, he struck his father on the head with a weapon, causing severe injuries. The father, who was trying to separate the feuding parties, could not withstand the assault and succumbed to his injuries.

After the brutal attack, the young man fled the scene, leaving behind a scene of devastation and a grievously injured father.

Local law enforcement authorities have since initiated a manhunt to locate the fugitive son. The search efforts are ongoing as the police work to apprehend him.

In the meantime, the body of the deceased father has been transported to Kakamega Referral Hospital. The hospital will conduct an examination and manage the necessary procedures related to the tragic death.

This incident has left the community in shock and mourning as they come to terms with the violence and loss that has unfolded in their midst.
