Lover Stabs Boyfriend 27 Times on His 27th Birthday: Family Shares Final Moments
New information has surfaced about the final moments of Conrad Nyabuto, a 27-year-old ICT specialist who was fatally stabbed 27 times in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
Nyabuto was laid to rest on Friday, December 27, in Kigoro village, Kisii. During the somber funeral, family and friends shared insights into the events leading to his death on December 23, 2024.
The prime suspect is a 24-year-old woman, allegedly Nyabuto’s girlfriend, whom he reportedly planned to break up with before his tragic demise.
“He had confided in some of his female friends about ending the relationship,” a relative revealed. “He described her as a source of constant distress in his life.”

On the fateful day, Nyabuto visited the woman’s residence to end their relationship. A heated argument allegedly escalated, culminating in the brutal attack.
Shockingly, Nyabuto was stabbed 27 times in the back—on his birthday. His chest also bore cuts, and his throat was slit, suggesting a crime fueled by intense emotion.
A post-mortem confirmed excessive blood loss as the cause of death. The family insists on an unbiased investigation and urges authorities to handle the case without interference.
The suspect, who also suffered stab wounds, is under 24-hour watch at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital.
This tragic case highlights a growing trend of fatal incidents stemming from failed relationships. Conrad’s story echoes a similar case in Trans-Nzoia County, where a medical student was stabbed to death just days before his graduation.
