Lawmaker’s Daughter Flees Scene of Hit & Run on Lumumba Drive, Thika Road
Authorities are actively searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run incident, where a woman, identified as the daughter of a Kirinyaga Member of the County Assembly (MCA), was struck by a vehicle.
The individual behind the wheel of the white SUV allegedly fled the scene following an incident where MCA Njeri Mwaniki’s daughter was struck down. She was promptly taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
The incident occurred on Lumumba Drive along Thika Road, resulting in injuries to the victim.
The injured individual was quickly transported to the hospital by a compassionate bystander who witnessed the accident.
The legislator has released a statement urging both law enforcement and citizens to help identify the individual operating the relevant vehicle and ensure they are held accountable under the law.
“You knocked down my daughter almost killing her, you will know that there is law in this country,” the MCA stated.
She reassured the driver, who is suspected of going into hiding, that the authorities would eventually apprehend him and encouraged him to expedite the search process by turning himself in.
“If you are wise just reveal yourself before the law catches up with you.” She added.

Appeal for prayers and details of the vehicle involved
The legislator disclosed what she asserted were the registration particulars of the white Harrier/Lexus vehicle, which displayed the license plate KCM 0 * *C, and requested prayers.
The MCA expressed gratitude towards a compassionate individual named Dennis who was present at the accident site.
Dennis managed to recognize the vehicle that quickly departed and promptly transported the injured woman to the hospital for medical attention.
Despite the stern rhetoric from government agencies and Roads Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who has recently unveiled various initiatives to combat the increasing trend, road accidents continue to escalate, as indicated by mounting statistics.
The NTSA observed a notable increase in accidents from January 1, 2024, to April 1, 2024, compared to the corresponding period the previous year, with 7,198 individuals involved in road accidents.
