KUCCPS Announces Govt Sponsored Courses for KCSE Grade E Students (LIST)
Individuals who obtained an E grade in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) can embark on their desired career path by enrolling in artisan/level 4 programs initially, with the option to later progress to certificate courses.
The programs are available on the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal, and students are eligible for government sponsorship.

Individuals who took the KCSE exams from 2000 to 2022 and achieved a mean grade of D- or E are eligible for artisan courses.
The courses are divided into 14 programs which are Business, Building and Construction, Engineering and Technology, Food Science, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Hospital, Hotel and Tourism, and Clothing, Fashion, and Textile.
Others are; Agricultural Sciences, Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy, and Library and Information Science.
Business
In this initiative, interested individuals have the opportunity to submit applications for roles in Storekeeping, Accounting Technician, and Secretarial positions.
Furthermore, students have the option to seek admission in Office Administration and Human Resource Management, both encompassed within the realm of business studies.
Building and Construction
This program is designed for students who possess a keen interest in masonry and construction as a whole.
Courses in this category encompass Building Technology, Construction Technology, Masonry, Building Artisan Level 4, and General Fitting within the artisan skill set.
Food Science
Individuals aspiring to pursue a career in the hospitality sector are urged to enroll in courses offered within this program.
They encompass Food and Beverage Production and Services (covering production and sales options), Artisan Craft in the Food and Beverage sector, Culinary Arts, and Food Processing Technology.
Social Sciences
There are just two options available in this classification: Artisan in Social Work and Artisan in Social Work – Level 4.
Information Technology
Individuals passionate about information technology have the option to enroll in various courses within this field, such as ICT, Artisan Level 4, NVCET in IT, and ICT Technician Level 4.
Hospitality and Tourism
Students with grades D- and E have the option to enroll in Tour Guiding and Operations (Level 4) as well as Artisan in Catering and Accommodation within this classification.
Agricultural Sciences
The program includes Agribusiness, Agriculture, Horticulture Nursery Management, Agricultural Mechanics, and Entrepreneurial Agriculture courses.
Additional courses comprise Agriculture Extension and Rural Sociology Level 4, as well as NVCET focusing on Modern Methods of Agriculture.
Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy
This is the most popular program for students seeking artisanal courses.
Courses in this classification encompass Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. After finishing these programs, individuals have the opportunity to set up their own salons or beauty establishments or pursue career opportunities within the beauty and cosmetics sector.
