KNCHR Chairperson Roseline Odede Passes Away After Short Illness
Roseline Odede, Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), has passed away.
The sad news was announced by the Commissionโs Vice Chairperson, Raymond Nyeris, who revealed that she died on Friday, January 3, 2025, after a brief illness.
In a heartfelt statement, Nyeris expressed the Commissionโs grief, describing Odedeโs death as a significant loss to both the KNCHR and the nation.
He acknowledged her leadership and dedication during her tenure, highlighting her exceptional contributions to the Commission’s mission.
“We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. May her remarkable service bring comfort during this difficult period,” the statement read.
The KNCHR has invited the public to join in honoring the legacy of Odede, whose unwavering dedication to human rights advocacy remains a guiding light for the institutionโs future endeavors.
Roseline Odede was a respected advocate of the High Court of Kenya and held multiple distinguished roles throughout her career.
She was a certified mediator, arbitrator, and an expert in social and environmental impact assessment.
