Kisii Tragedy Unveiled: Family Exposes Motive Behind Alleged Girlfriend’s Murder

Additional information has surfaced regarding the motives behind a man’s alleged journey from Kisii to Kuria, where he murdered a student who was purportedly his fiancée.

On November 9, the body of Lucy Boke, age 22, was discovered in a pool of blood in her Kisii residence in the Jogoo neighborhood, following an apparent homicide.

The suspect in the assassination of Boke was apprehended after police rescued him from an enraged mob.

According to the woman’s family, the man was enraged that he was unable to wed their relatives.

Although the two families had a child together, they had reached an agreement before their wedding that the individuals would not wed.

This allegedly infuriated the man, who then pursued the woman to Kisii, where she was enrolled at the Kisii National Polytechnic, before committing her murder.

Boke worked as a beauty and therapy student while caring for her infant of nine months.

Additionally, the weapon was discovered within the residence, according to the police.

According to police, the alleged assailant had traveled from his residence in Kuria to complete the mission.

Police prevented him from being lynched by locals who had apprehended him while he was sheltering in a house in the vicinity.

The police stated that they were investigating to determine whether or not the murderer had additional accomplices.

The suspect and the 22-year-old student both originated from the village of Masaba in Kuria West, Migori.

According to her mother, Amina Nyihembe, the woman declined the man’s proposal of matrimony.

“She had struggled to study and now she is dead because of love. We can’t believe this,” she said.

According to her uncle Ngen Matatiro, the families convened and mutually determined that the individuals would not enter into matrimony.

The practice of matrimonially joining relatives is considered abhorrent in certain communities.

A further disagreement has emerged regarding the burial site of the Boke.

The suspect’s family is demanding the corpse, whereas Boke’s family maintains that the couple was not married to justify such a request.

The demands have been rebuffed by the family of Boke.

The Kisii police have stated that they will exhibit the suspect in court while the murder investigation continues.

Isaac Kimwele, the head of the Kisii police, stated that homicide charges are preferred in the case.

“It was all about a love triangle. The other details are reinforcing this murder,” he said.
