Kioni Reveals How Azimio Was Conned In Ruto-Raila Talks
On Monday, disgruntled Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni asserted that Azimio received a shoddy agreement during the recently concluded Bipartisan Talks, whose co-chairmen Kalonzo Musyoka and Kimani Ichung’wah have already endorsed their recommendations.
An individual named Kioni, who was affiliated with the technical staff of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO), expressed his dissent to the final report’s recommendations.
According to the former member of parliament, Kenya Kwanza was purportedly engaging in water and wine consumption while the negotiations were in progress. Kioni asserted that the government squandered time on the negotiations to impede the opposition.
The individual provided the government’s decision to raise the costs of essential goods, including petroleum, as the most effective illustration of this contention.
“We would be locked in a house (BOMAS) and at the same time they would be increasing fuel prices and the National Identity Card application fee,” Kioni complained.
The politician stated that he frequently questioned his colleagues regarding Kenya Kwanza’s decision to raise the prices of essential commodities during negotiations between the two factions to determine how to reduce the cost of living.
He was even more enraged by the fact that NADCO members were responsible for the price and tax increases.
“These guys are not honest and they are wasting our time and that is why I said it is a con game,” Kioni dismissed the recommendations.

Additionally, some of the recommendations, according to Kioni, required a constitutional amendment. However, he conveyed assurance that Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, would dismiss them.
Specifically, he criticized the group he was a member of for suggesting the establishment of the Office of the Opposition Leader.
“If it is a question of the creation of offices, I can always tell you, that Raila Odinga went into detention for 8 years to get this constitution. I am certain he is not going to allow amendments through the back door,” Kioni stated.
Kioni is the second Azimio politician who participated in NADCO to renounce the recommendations of the committee.
Former Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa swore on Sunday that he would not affix his signature to the final NADCO report in protest of the recommendations.
Wamalwa, a former member of NADCO, expressed discontent with how the group addressed the matter of living expenses.
