Kindiki Pledges to Lock Up UDA Parliamentarian and Local Representatives on Law Enforcement’s Radar

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki warned on Thursday, June 15 that he would not spare anyone inciting the public to violence, including politicians affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party of President William Ruto.

At a meeting of the Lamu Security and Intelligence Committees in Witu, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) issued a stern warning that an MP and seven MCAs affiliated with the UDA who allegedly incited violence in Kericho would face imprisonment if found guilty.

He cautioned that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) would swiftly press charges against the politicians, ensuring their prompt arraignment.

“The leaders inciting violence in Kericho were UDA members who were required to make statements to the police.”

“If we find sufficient evidence against them, we will prosecute them. “We must construct a law-abiding and peaceful nation,” he stated.

In addition, Kindiki warned that leaders allied with the Azimio Coalition who incite others to violence will face legal consequences.
