Kenya remains increasingly involved in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as Russia claimed in March that Kenyan mercenaries were participating in combat on the side of Ukraine.
On Thursday, March 14, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed to have identified five individuals from Kenya who were reportedly collaborating with the Ukrainian armed forces.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs later denied this claim, emphasizing that Kenya adheres to a foreign policy of refraining from involvement in the internal matters of other nations.
“Kenya rejects the allegations and dissociates herself from any alleged mercenary presence and activities in Ukraine,” Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’oei stated.
