Kenyan Rapper CMB Prezzo Confirms 2027 Presidential Bid, Launches Political Party
Kenyan rapper Jackson Ngechu Makini, popularly known as CMB Prezzo, has confirmed that he is still determined to run for president in 2027. Speaking to SPM Buzz on Sunday, March 23, 2025, Prezzo revealed that he has officially launched his political party, Chama Mabadiliko Busara (CMB), to support his ambitions.
Prezzo’s Political Aspirations
Prezzo emphasized that he remains optimistic about winning the election and has entrusted his journey to God. However, he acknowledged that faith alone is not enough and is actively working to gain support across the country. He aims to connect with people in both rural and urban areas to strengthen his voter base.
“Yes, in 2027, God willing, we will leave everything in His hands, but we must also take action. That is why I registered my own political party, Chama Mabadiliko Busara (CMB). This party will have a strong presence nationwide. I also have a solid team backing me, so I am not doing this alone,” Prezzo said.
The Meaning Behind CMB Party
Prezzo, known for hit songs like My Gal, explained that the party’s symbol is a chain breaking apart, representing freedom and the end of political and social oppression. He drew inspiration from recent Generation Z-led protests, which he believes have reshaped Kenya’s political landscape.
He praised the Gen Z movement for uniting people beyond tribal lines, proving that young people can drive change.
“I am the chairman of the party. Our emblem features two hands in handcuffs, with the chain breaking apart. This symbolizes the fight for freedom. Gen Z protests showed that young people have broken free from tribalism, and that is exactly what my party stands for,” he explained.

Gen Z’s Role in the 2027 Elections
Prezzo believes that Gen Z will play a major role in the 2027 elections. By then, many 16-year-olds today will have turned 18 and become eligible voters, making them a powerful force in shaping Kenya’s future.
However, he warned young people that fear could be their biggest obstacle. He encouraged them to be bold and pursue their dreams, just as he has done by launching his presidential bid and political party.
“Gen Z protests showed that tribalism is no longer relevant. By 2027, many young people will be voters, and my party will represent them. But fear holds people back—fear of failure, fear of judgment. Success is on the other side of fear. That’s why I created my own path and launched my own party,” Prezzo said.
Conclusion
CMB Prezzo is confident about his presidential run and is actively building his political party to compete in the 2027 elections. With a focus on youth and unity, he hopes to bring change to Kenya’s political scene. Will his vision resonate with voters? Time will tell.
